About grassland park
Grassland Park is owned and operated by Williamson County Parks & Recreation (WCP&R) and in partnership with SORBA. The proposed 3 mile singletrack trail system will be designed and built for the primary purpose of providing local youth and families the opportunity to experience mountain biking in their own community. The trails will be shorter in length and intentionally designed for beginners and kids due to its close proximity to schools and neighborhoods in the village.
The goal of the trail system is not to reach a certain length, but to give riders a safe place to build their skills, repeat challenges, and grow by socializing with others who share similar interests. Three distinct trails each with a different length and difficulty allows for use by riders of all skill levels.
The trails will “flow” through the woods following the terrain and natural features. They will weave back and forth around existing trees with minimal impact to the natural landscape. Dry creek beds and water hazards to the northwest and southeast will be avoided. Trails would be contained within the existing tree canopy and hillside with essentially zero impact on the existing park usage.
SORBA and the mountain bike community are thankful to Outdoor Encounter and Jay Williams of RB Cyclery in Brentwood for the vision and direction of this project.
