On weekends, when school is not in session, the electronic gate at the road opens at 8am.

8/24/2025 - Riding Update - General Info
Look over the TrailForks Map before you go. Most trails are hand cut with more elevation change than most in the area. There is a machine built downhill line with tables & berms… yet it ends in some gnarly, off-camber chunk.
The trails run CCW and end at the busses, down by the Harpeth river. From there, ride the old gravel road south, but as you near I-40 look left for the climb trail. It peaks behind a fence, where you may need to walk some sections until further improvements are made. The other option from the bottom corner… is to continue parallel to I-40 on a washed out access road going east, then make a left before the sports field and climb a gravel road to a gate.

We had a solid turnout Saturday and others continued work on Sunday. With that, all sections are cleared to ride. The climb out from the Harpeth runs close to a fence with a sharp edge on your left. We suggest walking the fence line. The TrailForks Map has been updated. On the app, you may need to update your region. (Routes need to be updated, but ride CCW from TH).

We created a “Strava Club” as a public place for Mountain Bikers to post messages about Group Rides, Trail Concerns or Work Days. Go to www.strava.com/clubs/lawson or from the Strava app, click Groups, Clubs search “Lawson Trails” and join. You will see upcoming events and click “Posts” to see recent stuff.

A lot of trail is ready to ride, but we need you to help us clear the last bit so people can ride the complete loop. We plan to work then ride, so bring your bike.

Thanks to the crew that came out to the 7/12/25 Trail Work Day! We got a few trail sections cleared to ride. We need to sort out the schedule for the automated vehicle gate that restricts access to the entire property.

After much work, SORBA has reached an agreement with Nashville Public Schools & James Lawson High School to use the Mountain Bike Trails!
We need you to help cut back overgrowth to get the trail open. Join us Saturday July 12th. Bring your trimmers, loppers, rakes, bug spray, etc!
