Help trim the trail in preparation for the Hammer Drop race August 16th. The terrain is very rocky so string trimmers and loppers work well.

We will have a few trimmers to share. We also need empty hands to move and clear the trimmings so every body helps.

Volunteers should bring water, wear pants, long sleeves, gloves, boots, bug repellant. Some gloves & hand tools will be available.

Dirt Shift - Lawson Trails Work & Ride

The July 12th work day got a LOT of the trail cleared and ready to ride. But as some have noted, you ride down the mountain and the climb back up is overgrown and tick ridden.

Come out to help clear the final sections.

Dress appropriately for hiking thru the woods. Wear bug spray. Bring trimmers or tools if you have them. We will have some to lend out. There will be plenty of work to do and having small hands (supervised) to rake and remove clippings will help too.

If you own a landscaping or lawn care service… reach out to trails@sorbamidtn.org to partner with us.

MEETING TIME & LOCATION

We will be meeting at the old trailhead, small / upper / back parking lot HERE and plan to have crews roll out at 8am and 9am.

SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER

This is a continuation of SORBA’s work with the James Lawson High School Cycling Club and Cross Country Team to restore the former Hope Park MTB Trails.
